Good news about old news

It's been almost two months since I've had a blog update to share. Blogging about not knowing what's actually happening is no fun to write and no fun to read. I have had some news to share for a few days, but it is now 100% official, so here goes.
The last update had me frustrated and angry at my treatment during my first driving job. It was so much to process and I was ending my fourth week of training for a job I wasn't going to be working. I came home and wanted to just cry and be a puddle of failure. There has been PLENTY of that during the past two months.
I also applied for a few jobs, some with other trucking companies, some doing work similar to my last company, and one that I really wanted, being a 911 operator. I made it to the interview round, and thought I nailed it, and I still believe I did. After four weeks of waiting, I got the email I didn't want. No matter how much I was enthusiastic and nailed the preliminary tests and the interview, they found someone with the one thing I didn't have... experience. I guess countless hours of true crime TV and podcasts and Tik Toks don't count. Psshhhh...
The hubby had a promise from me that if the 911 job didn't come through, I'd call that first trucking company back and ask about getting rehired to a different terminal, and that's just exactly what I am doing. I'll be working out of the Denver terminal instead of KC and I already have a mentor lined up; a woman who does over the road trucking, exactly what I wish I had gotten the first time around. As soon as her truck is repaired, I'm heading to Denver and then hitting the road. I already have miles under my belt with this company, and since my "incident" in the snow happened with them, they will be the best way to drive that off of my record.
I sure hope these whiny blog posts about administrative BS are over soon and I can start sharing real stories about the road. Get my own truck and make it beautiful and comfy and show off my gourmet truck cooking. Excited I am!
